Hire your kids for your private practice? - Tax Strategies for Therapists

It's mid-year and a great time to work on tax planning for your private practice. Did you know you can hire your kids and pay less in taxes? This is one of my favorite tax strategies because it results in major tax savings.

In a nutshell:

• You write off wages you paid to your kids, reducing your taxable income. Lower taxable income means you pay less in income taxes and self-employment taxes

• The kids don't pay taxes whatsoever on their wages (if they meet all criteria)
